Penalty order: reducing the daily units
A fine is set in daily units. The number of units depends on the seriousness of the offence, the amount of each unit on your net income (§ 40 StGB). If the amount is set too high, it can often be corrected.
Limited objection
The objection to the penalty order can be limited to the amount of the daily units (§ 410(2) StPO), allowing a review without challenging the finding of guilt as a whole. The deadline is two weeks.
